How it works
Pressure altitude = field elevation + (1013 − QNH) × 27.3 ft/hPa; density altitude = pressure altitude + 118.8 ft × ISA deviation. Hot, high and humid raise it, and with it the take-off run and the true airspeed for a given indicated speed. The POH/AFM is authoritative.
